I joined ARO in 2007 from the East Midlands Universities Association, where I worked on a number of projects including the EMSTAs (East Midlands Science and Technology Awards), policy briefings on HE issues, events and website management. I've also worked in student support, and in arts administration.
I've got a degree in English Literature and Philosophy, and a Masters (by research) in continental philosophy. My Masters thesis looked at whether feminist phenomenology could bring a new approach to understanding and treating eating disorders.
I live just outside Nottingham with my husband and a dwarf hamster, in a nice town with a really good local pub. I'd like to think that technology can save us all, but I try to balance my time in front of a computer with time spent growing nice things to eat in my garden, DIY, climbing hills and other outdoors activities.
